Our province is small but very close knit especially when our communities join and come together to help one another. One area in particular is A beautiful community on our north shore called New London and within it lies a treasure! It’s called the New London Community Complex where you can find a bakery, Sunday Brunches, several fitness classes and wonderful entertainment at any times throughout the year. This charming community venue survives because of a lot hard work done by its own volunteers from surrounding areas much like most small halls within our beautiful province. Fundraising to keep it alive is very important. A wonderful group We belong to based in Summerside was asked to help out with their second annual dinner theatre, a major fundraising event for the complex. Fandango Musical Players Inc. is a community musical theatre company based in Summerside with volunteer members from Summerside and surrounding communities and like the complex thrives on fundraising and proceeds from shows and concerts. However yesterday was our chance to help our lovely friends in New London. Last night we entertained to a sold out audience and all of us were thrilled to bits to witness all of the loving, kindness and pride the people of New London and surrounding areas have for this wonderful place. We were also just as thrilled to help them raise funds for the complex to help them continue to offer all of the above!
Our musical group was treated to a wonderful 3 course meal after everyone had left after the show. We all were very touched by this.
Because the Complex sold out last night Fandango is more than happy to do a second show this coming Saturday June 1st. 6 pm. There are some tickets available , so if you are looking for something to do, visiting your cottage for the weekend and feel like coming out to support our wonderful PEI community spirit please give New London Community Complex a thought and give Stephanie a call at the Complex to reserve your seat for “An Evening With Fandango”.
