Wild Impulse is a one-of-a-kind, locally owned business located at 85 Belvedere Ave., Charlottetown, PEI. Wild Impulse has a sort of split personality; one half of the store is fully stocked with sexy lingerie and adult toys, while the other half is a complex and well supplied smoke shop.

Known as Prince Edward Island’s leading adult novelty store, Wild Impulse not only carries a wide selection of smoking essentials, adult toys and lingerie – there is also always a very friendly and knowledgeable staff on hand to answer any questions you may have during your visit!

At Wild Impulse, we are committed to making your shopping experience both pleasurable and memorable. The relaxed atmosphere in the shop and our friendly (and informative) staff are the foundation for a pleasant visit. Also, we recently expanded the store to make room for more inventory, which means more selection for our customers.

Wild Impulse must operate in accordance with the Prince Edward Island tobacco laws, which state that patrons to establishments that openly display tobacco must be 19 years of age or older to enter.

We do not allow minors in the store under any circumstance.

PIPES

We carry over 1000 different pipes in our store at all times made of various materials such as aluminium, glass, wood, and stone. Since our inventory is constantly changing, it would be impossible for us to give an accurate and up to date depiction of the stock we have on hand.

In order to help you make informed decisions that ensure your smoking experience is as pleasant as possible, here is a breakdown of some of our most popular selling pipe materials:

Aluminium

Pros: Aluminum pipes are tailored for a smoker’s convenience. Typically, they include a cover at the top that not only keeps your product safe from falling out in your pockets but because there is a small hole in the top of the cover, it has an added benefit of wind resistance while smoking outside. Light through the hole and away you go! Aluminium is a durable and inexpensive material, so there is absolutely no need to fret if you happen to drop it! Since aluminium pipes are usually composed of multiple pieces, they are easy to take apart for cleaning.

Cons: Aluminum is quite susceptible to temperature fluctuation – so pipe bowls, mouthpieces and chambers tend to get pretty hot during periods of heavy use. Because of this, aluminium pipes tend to collect resin at a much quicker pace than other materials.

Glass

Pros: Glass is an incredibly versatile material that can be blown into any shape imaginable. The quality can range from simple, straight chambers, to outrageously intricate in design and vivid in colour. Glass is non-porous, so it does not collect resin as quickly as most other materials. In addition, because glass is also slick, it’s typically easier to clean than most other materials as well. It is tempered so as not to distribute heat, therefore you don’t have to worry about burning your fingers or lips while smoking at your leisure!

Cons: Glass breaks. Some glass pipes are thicker than others, but if you happen to be at all accident prone, expect to lose your pipe to a bump or a fall at some point. Glass also tends to become weaker when its temperature is continuously changing from hot to cool, so if you are a heavy smoker, glass pipes may not be suitable for regular use in the long term, as they may break unexpectedly.

Wood

Pros: Wooden pipes are very elegant in their fashion and can be customized to your needs quite easily. There are many different lengths and styles of mouthpieces one can find in order to make a wooden pipe unique for its user. They are traditional, offer a superior smoking experience and can last a lifetime if cared for properly.

Cons: Wooden pipes require a lot of care and maintenance to ensure they operate properly. When they are brand new, they require some regular use before they smoke to their full potential, and over time they can retain certain flavours and aromas which may not be desirable.

Stone

Pros: Stone pipes are hand-crafted, so every single one of them is unique in design. This is an admirable quality to smokers who wish to exhibit their individuality through their smoking device. Stone is a very dense material, so these pipes are virtually indestructible.

Cons: Because they are hand-crafted, a lot of stone pipes tend to have very small chambers which can make a pipe quite difficult to clean. Stone is very susceptible to heat transfer, so the bowl can become hot to the touch quite easily. Additionally, because so much work goes into crafting stone pipes, the chambers also tend to be a lot shorter than most pipes which causes the mouthpieces to become hot during heavy use as well.
